Today, I thought it would be very helpful to give and share some advice on what has gotten me through the aches and pains of being a pre-nursing student so far.
The list follows:
- Stay on top of all your work.
- Do not, I repeat, do not procrastinate things. 9 times out of 10, you will pull your hairs out trying to get it done, end up submitting something that is bad quality, or even missing the deadline.
- When things get hard, remind or even think about why you want to down this route. #forthekids #forthepoeple
- Always balance your work and life schedule. This very IMPORTANT. Time for work and time for yourself and your friends will help you maintain a happy life.
- Always look over your mistakes. This counts for school and your personal life. Failure often leads to success as long as you are looking at your mistakes and learning from them.
- Study, study, study! Do not cram. Trust me, you aren't even learning. Create a study schedule and take 15-20 minutes to review some of your materials. You will actually use the information you read and look over for future reference.
- Reward yourself! After you get a good grade, go get some Starbucks or even something you've been craving. Hard work = A free pass to cheat your diet (Sometimes...).
- You might fail the very first quiz or test for the course you're enrolled in and THAT IS OKAY! You have the rest of the semester to get your grade up, don't let that bring you down.
- Work hard and always try to do your best. You don't want to have any regrets or think that you could've done better. If you do it right the first time, one time is enough.
- Lastly, breathe! When the world feels like it's coming down on top of your shoulders, just breathe. This mechanism will not only help to clear your mind, but it will instantly make you feel better!
If someone could give me any advice before I started college, this would definitely be a life saver. Especially with this major, take notes on these tips and tricks!
All the best,
Amanda
